so i am an umpier as well as a coach. i coach one of the older teams in the league and ump the younger kids in the league. In the last two days i have had one coach blow up at me multiple time even though i am just doing my job and trying to help out to make sure games are going corretly. So yesterday the coach had seven players and game time was 8 pm, the coach not having enough players had 15 min to get a 8 player so we could start the game. He knows the rules and will call you out on all of them no matter what. So he has 15 min and when the 15 min are up i am allowed to call the game and it is a forefit. The 15 min pass and i call the game, At this point i am walking off the field and he proceeds to say this is bullshit blah blah blah, i reply thats life you know the rules you got 15 min get over it. i walk to my car to leave and one of his coaches runs over and says our player was in the park does that matter? i tell him no, had they told me there player was there before i called the game or right after i would have let the player get to the dugout and we would have played the game. but they waited to long i had walked off the field and i was done dealing with that coach. the game before that there was a missed call because there was confusion on the rule and the coach freaked out about my call even though his team was winning and won the game. So thats day one dealing with this coach.

Day number two. I show up to ump and the game i am to ump gets forefitted because one team didnt have enough players. so i decided to watch the younger team that is part of my teams organization because i have nothing to do until later. so i am watching my team play the team of the coach that blew up on me the day before. In an inning the pitcher hit two batters in a row. so the coach for my younger team asks me how many players a pitcher can hit before he has to be pulled. Our league has no rule or number. So i had to turn to the offical rule book to find an answer.

I go to the snack shack to look up the rule and find out what needs to be done so our coach doesnt freak out on this kid for hitting our players. They tried saying it has to be consecutive hit batters before a pitcher gets pulled. Well the pitcher already hit multiple people in a row. so i looked up the rule and interpreted it the best way i could and went and told the other ump what should be done if another batter is hit. i tell the other ump and then go and chill in the snack shack again.

While im in the shack i have a lady come and ask me the rule because this pitcher had hit muiltple batters against her team and nothing was done, so i told her what the rule book said and how i feel it should be dealt with. As i am talking to her the coach that i have been having issues with walks by and decides to chim in on what we are talking about. He proceeds to get in my face yelling at me telling me to keep my nose outta his games and that he will have me fired as an ump.

Well next thing i know he apparently forefitted the game because he wanted to argue the call the ump on the field made saying he needed to change pitchers, so he decided to forefit the game.

So i am in the snack shack minding my own business and i have a parent from the team the forefitted come in and harrass me saying that it is my fault that the team his son plays on had to forefit the second game in two days. he goes into saying i should've not interfered with the game and hes a ref for basketball and football two different sports and that i was in the wrong. he is in my face inches away from me and he is twice my age and twice my size in my face yelling at me. and as he walks out he decides to call me a chicken shit and that i should watch my mouth, i havent said much at this point besides how is it my fault thats all ive said to this point after he calls me a chicken shit i being who i am respond with o i need to watch my mouth ok. At this point im wanting one of these guys to touch me puch me hit me something so i can call the cops and send there asses to jail,

So i ask anyone who reads this whole rant was i in the wrong? all i did was read the rule and as an ump tell the other umps how i would handle the game if more batters are hit because they hadnt done anything about the pitcher hitting player? My intent was player safety and to have the game played the correct way. Remember i didnt say anything when these two guys both twice my age and size got in my face and made threats to me. How was it my fault i cant control the coach he is the one that called the game not me i mearly told the other umps what needed to be done and they did it yet some how i am the bad guy?

I will finish with this. I love baseball with all my heart and every fiber of my being this game means the world to me and i just wanna see it played correctly and have these kids have fun while playing the game right. Yes i am stilling learning rooms and different things in the game. I love being around the game as a fan a coach a ump a player. When i have coachs and parents getting in my face when i didnt do anything it ruins the game i love. I love this game thats the end of that.
