Could everyone give me some good tips on breaking in a new glove? I have a fairly new (three weeks old) Nokona glove, and I have tried multiple things, putting oil on it, putting 2 balls in it and putting it under my mattress overnight while I sleep on it. Suggestions please?

Comment by Rollin Layton on June 3, 2012 at 10:46pm This makes me wanna cry. Don't put it under your mattress. Just play catch with it. That is the best way to get a glove the exact way you want it.

Comment by Derek Lange on June 1, 2012 at 9:41am Hot Glove Heat Treatment actually works. I saw it from this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBSTzebss6M And if you mess up, they will refund you to buy a new glove.
But if you aren't comfortable with that, watch the video of Aso, the head glove director of Wilson, break in Brandon Phillips' glove.

Comment by Ryan Shearrer on June 1, 2012 at 2:40am Nokonas are notorious for taking a long time to break in. Ive had two and each took between 4-6 months for me to get them to point that I liked them. I never use oil when I first get a glove but during and right after the season I use the Nokona glove cream and that works wonders for your glove.

Dont put any oil on it, your glove will last longer if you just play catch a lot. Super glue a old baseball to the end of a thick stick and just beat the shit out of your glove. Also, put a bigger ball in there like a softball, and wrap it closed. Do that everynight till it breaks in.
